I've had a good couple of days in the pottery producing a Japanese-style bottle and also a round dish with a foot. The dish was a new method for me - the body was moulded on a hump mould from a slab of clay and, with the clay still wet, I then mounted the mould on the wheel and turned a foot. I then left it over night to become leather hard, removed the dish from the mould and trimmed to finish. The whole thing looks surprisingly professional! I am pleased with the dimensions of the bottle too, which should look great if I can get the glazing right.
